Ms. Corcoran earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University in 1992 and worked as a civil engineer emphasizing on structural design before realizing she would rather be a lawyer. She earned her J.D. with honors from the University of Florida (Go GATORS!) in 1998. Ms. Corcoran was in private practice in the Great State of Texas in the late 90s and early 2000s and is currently in private practice locally, focusing primarily on Family Law and Estate Planning. She chairs the Family Law Section of the Nevada County Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors of LRS and Habitat for Humanity.
Before moving back into private practice locally, she was the lead attorney for the Sierra Nevada Regional Department of Child Support Services (SNRDCSS).
During her tenure with SNRDCSS, she served as a member of the CSDA Judicial Council Forms Committee where she worked in collaboration with the State DCSS, LCSAs and the Administrative Office of the Courts to create and modify family law and governmental forms.
Ms. Corcoran was the Executive Editor of the California Child Support Attorney
Sourcebook for years 2007, 2008, and 2009; she was the principal author of the State of California Department of Child Support Services Real Property Lien Resource Guide.
Ms. Corcoran has designed a host of training curriculum and taught regionally, statewide and nationally on topics relating directly to Family Law and has been a presenter/faculty member of the Nevada County Superior Court’s Annual Family Law Update since 2004.
Ms. Corcoran is licensed to practice in California and is currently an inactive Member of the State Bar of Texas.
